The most beautiful towns to visit in the area
Just 20 minutes from the campsite, Quimper boasts a medieval heart, half-timbered houses, Saint-Corentin cathedral and a fine arts museum. It’s the capital of Cornouaille, where art, history and
Concarneau, Ville d’Art et d’Histoire, is famous for its fortified walled town, its souvenir stores and delicious ice creams, its fishing port and lively quays. You’ll also find the Fishing Museum and Marinarium, perfect for a family outing.
Pont-Aven, the city of painters, is emblematic of the Breton art movement, while Pont-L’Abbé, capital of the Pays Bigouden, boasts a rich heritage and a lively town center.
Don’t miss the Glénan Islands: an archipelago of paradise
An archipelago paradise with transparent turquoise seas and white beaches, the Glénan Islands are Brittany’s most exotic islands. Depart from the port of Beg-Meil (3.5km from the campsite) with the Odet speedboats, and in July and August (in Fouesnant) set sail from the Beg-Meil slipway to discover the Glénan islands,a listed natural site with turquoise waters and fine white sand beaches. An exotic change of scenery guaranteed! A paradise for seabirds, scuba divers, yachters and nature lovers alike.
Reaching the beaches
When it comes to things to do in and around Fouesnant, beaches are a must! Take advantage of the 14 km of south-facing white sandy beaches, with lifeguard surveillance and “pavillon bleu” certification. Ideal for vacations on the coast of southern Brittany and Finistère.
Take the path from the Piscine campsite to walk directly to the Maner and Coat Clevarec beaches. Swimming, sunbathing or strolling along the seafront, the choice is yours! Bathing, sunbathing or strolling along the seafront, fishing on foot or hiking along the GR34 are all part of the day’s activities. For the more curious, the town of Fouesnant organizes nature outings, local markets and numerous cultural events throughout the summer.
